Our short film hasn't got enough footage yet to be called a short film. Currently it looks like a lengthy trailer. In result to this we decided to establish the main character more by welcoming the plot into his life. Therefore we have created a scene in which helps the audience might understand how he became apart of the climax.

999 Call- Roles, Edits, Script & Technology

Slight change to how we are going to record the phone call. After much discussion, our media teacher gave us the opportunity to use a high tech sound recording device. This is a new piece of technology we haven't used in our previous AS year. In result, we decided it would be best to use a professional piece of equipment not only to develop our knowledge of media equipment but also to make the phone call sound clear and as realistic as possible.

As part of A2 to raise the bar as a group we are trying to make our piece as realistic as possible. By researching the standard 999 phone call we can then establish our own script to follow the image shown above. After discussing who would play which role I suggested it might by clearer to our audience if we used different sexes for the witness and the phone call operator. Therefore a male will play the role of the witness whereas a female (myself) will be the phone call operator.

Fresh Eyes;

A technique our english teacher has taught us to use when writing a good essay has become helpful for our media production. After having two and a half weeks off college we return to the editing stages and noticed that some of our piece should be changed.
Some of my opinions were:

• The shot of the car foiled by a green used effect looks out of place
• The establishing shot is a tad short due to the music I want to mix with it
• Phone needs doing ASAP to start pulling the full effect on the piece
• First aid shot is a bit long at the beginning and looks staged
• Cut the final shot into two first being slow and second being fast to circle back to first shot

After much dicussion our group decided:

• More footage is needed
• Cloud shot- quicker
• Longer establishing shot
• Maybe experiment with some handheld shots
• Refilm the blink shot which has an error on
• Phone call needs to be realistic therefore a male shall ring and a woman will answer
• Last shot is wobbly
